Rep. Andrew Lewis to Seek Re-Election to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives
Lower Paxton Township – Today, combat veteran, businessman and conservative reformer Andrew Lewis announced that he will seek a second term to the Pennsylvania House of Representatives.
“Since my first day in office, I have worked tirelessly to ensure that every citizen of the 105th District has a voice in Harrisburg,” said Rep. Lewis. “A year into my first term, I’m excited to report that we’ve been getting it done and shaking things up in Harrisburg.”
Acting swiftly to bring change to the Capitol, Rep. Lewis took the following actions within his first 100 days in office:
• Introduced a term limits amendment which garnered more than a dozen cosponsors.
• Introduced a major bipartisan reform to slash government red tape.
• Fought to change Harrisburg by defying the status quo, rejecting the taxpayer-funded pension and standing up for the people across the 105th.
“I’m proud to have passed a bill that slashes $500 million in debt and another bill which cleans up our outdated legal code,” said Rep. Lewis. “But there’s more work to do and I’m going to keep fighting. That’s why I’m running for a second term.”
Since being elected to office, Rep. Lewis has rejected special perks like exorbitant per-diem payments for overnight committee trips and has fought for reform across state government. He successfully passed several bills in the House and had another reform bill clear a key hurdle towards passage.
Rep. Lewis is a vocal champion of the 105th District; he helped secure $275,000 in grants for Lower Paxton and South Hanover Townships and has worked alongside West Hanover Township to help keep stormwater-related costs down for residents. He hosted seven community events across the district including a veterans breakfast and senior citizens outreach event and hosted two town hall meetings and two additional tele-town hall meetings to hear directly from members of the community.
Team Lewis is excited to kick off the 2020 re-election campaign and has re-enlisted an army of grassroots volunteers to knock doors and make calls for Rep. Lewis. The campaign committee will be chaired by Lowman Henry, local businessman, former Dauphin County Commissioner and chairman of the Lower Paxton Township board of supervisors.
“We have raised more than $120,000 since the 2018 election and even after supporting county candidates last year, the Andrew Lewis campaign will be moving into the 2020 campaign cycle with well over $100,000 cash on hand,” said Mr. Henry. “We are grateful to all of the citizens and small business owners across the 105th and the commonwealth who have stood with Andrew and contributed their hard-earned dollars and time to our shared mission of transforming Pennsylvania.”
